Chouinard Called Up To Cincinnati

SAN DIEGO – The San Diego Gulls announced that goaltender Mathieu Chouinard has been loaned to Cincinnati of the American Hockey League and that goaltender Eddy Ferhi has been assigned to San Diego from Cincinnati. San Diego is the ECHL affiliate of Cincinnati of the AHL and the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim of the National Hockey League.

One of eight goaltenders who played in both the ECHL and the NHL in 2003-04, the 24-year-old Chouinard is 1-3-0 with a goals-against average of 2.59 and a save percentage of .912 in five games for the Gulls.In 2003-04, the 24-year-old Chouinard played in the NHL with Los Angeles, in the American Hockey League with Manchester and in the ECHL with Reading. He was 1-1-1 with a goals-against average of 2.27 and a save percentage of .922 in three games with Reading and 10-6-0 with a goals-against average of 2.25 and a save percentage of .913 in 22 games with Manchester.

In 2003-04, the 25-year-old Ferhi, who has not appeared in a game this season, played in the ECHL with San Diego, going 1-0-2 with a goals-against average of 3.10 and a save percentage of .901, and in the AHL with Cincinnati, going 2-12-3 with a goals-against average of 3.11 and a save percentage of .893.
