Amid the bedlam in the visitor locker room inside Detroit’s Joe Louis Arena as Friday night stretched into Saturday morning, Derek Clancey sat with other members of the Pittsburgh Penguins front office staring at the Stanley Cup perched on a table.
It was, he recalls, a surreal feeling.
“It’s funny,” he said Sunday, “but I don’t remember how heavy it was, or any of the names (engraved) on the Cup. I just remember how shiny it was.”
