Condon named CCM ECHL Rookie of the Month
The 23-year-old went 7-1-1 in nine appearances during the month with one shutout, a 1.86 goals-against average and a save percentage of .943, helping the Nailers to a 10-3-2 record in November as the club moved into first place in the Atlantic Division.
A native of Holliston, Mass., Condon won his final four starts of the month and went 5-0-1 over his last six appearances. He made 39 saves in a 5-1 win at Elmira on Nov. 15, stopped all 38 shots he faced in a 3-0 victory at Cincinnati on Nov. 27 and closed the month with 34 saves in a 3-1 win at Elmira on Nov. 29. Condon earned ECHL Goaltender of the Week honors for the week ending Dec. 1 after going 2-0-1 with one shutout, a 0.97 goals-against average and a save percentage of .971.
Under contract to the Montreal Canadiens of the National Hockey League, Condon is 8-3-2 with one shutout in 13 appearances with the Nailers this season, while ranking third in the ECHL with a .939 save percentage and fifth with a 1.97 goals-against average.
Condon is 11-4-2 with two shutouts in 17 career ECHL games with Ontario and Wheeling, posting a 1.86 goals-against average and a save percentage of .940. He also appeared in five games with Houston of the American Hockey League last season where he was 3-0-0 with a 2.39 goals-against average and a save percentage of .919. Prior to turning pro, Condon appeared in 53 games at Princeton University from 2009-13 where he posted an 18-22-8 record with three shutouts, a 2.67 goals-against average and a save percentage of .917.
