Condors agree to terms with leading scorer Helfrich

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors have announced that the team has agreed to terms with 2011-12 leading scorer Tyler Helfrich.

Helfrich, 24, led the Condors in scoring last season with 50 points (19g-31a) in 65 games. After being acquired on Nov. 21 from the Gwinnett Gladiators, the rookie forward went on to amass 42 points (17g-25a) in 53 games played with Bakersfield, including 11 multiple-point games. The crafty two-way native of Calgary, Alberta was named the ECHL's Player of the Week for the week of Dec. 26-Jan. 1 after recording seven points (2g-5a) in four games and served as an alternate captain for the second half of the season.

He was the first rookie in Condors history to lead the team in scoring and his 50 points rank fourth all-time among Condors rookies.
