Condors’ Brunelle Named In Glas Co
ECHL Player of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. – Bakersfield left wing Mathieu Brunelle is the In Glas Co ECHL Player of the Week for February 28-March 6.

The 21-year-old Brunelle scored six goals, including two game winners, and had seven points to help the Condors go 3-0-1 to remain in the battle for first place in the West Division. In his first game for Bakersfield after being acquired in a trade with Dayton, Brunelle scored two points (1g-1a) in a 5-4 overtime loss at Fresno on March 1. After scoring the game winner on a power-play goal in a 4-1 win against San Diego on March 2, the 5-11 and 190-pound right wing recorded his second hat trick of the season in a 7-3 win at Victoria on March 4. He closed out the week by scoring his second game-winning goal in a 4-1 win at Victoria on March 5.

Selected in the seventh round (201st overall) and under contract to Philadelphia of the National Hockey League, Brunelle has a four-game scoring streak, picking up seven points (6g-1a) and a plus-minus-rating of +5 since joining Bakersfield. He began the season with Trenton and scored 21 points (12g-9a) in 37 games before being traded to Dayton where he had 10 points (2g-8a) in 13 games.
