BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The Bakersfield Condors announced that 7,026 stuffed animals were collected on Saturday during the Ninth-Annual Teddy Bear Toss sponsored by KGET TV-17, KERN 1410 AM and Wells Fargo Bank.

Following a first period goal by Tim Konsorada, the team record crowd of 8,895 tossed the stuffed animals onto the ice where volunteers from the United Way and the Ice Sports Center Youth Hockey League spent 14 minutes collecting them.

It is the second-highest total for the Teddy Bear Toss which has collected more than 44,800 stuffed animals in nine years.

The stuffed animals will be presented to local organizations for distribution to less-fortunate children during the holidays.
