Condors Open House Gathers 7,000 Pounds
Of Canned Goods For The Salvation Army

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The Bakersfield Condors announced that a standing-room only crowd at the team’s annual Open House and Family Day on Sunday donated a record 7,000 pounds of canned goods, doubling the total collections of the last three seasons combined.

Presented by KGET-TV 17, fans were given their first look at the Condors new lineup with the donation of two canned goods to The Salvation Army Food Pantry. The Salvation Army’s resources have been strained due to Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.

The event included a public skate with Condors players which had fans lined up around the building for their turn on the ice. Following the free skate, the team held a scrimmage complete with a shootout.
