Condors Sign Balan

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The Bakersfield Condors announced that they have signed defenseman Scott Balan.

In 2004-05 with Greenville, the 23-year-old had a career-high six goals and 18 points while tying his career high with 12 assists in 61 regular season games and played seven Kelly Cup Playoff games, scoring his first postseason goal.

Selected in the fourth round (106th overall) by the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft, the 6-foot-3 and 205-pound Balan has 42 points (9g-33a) and 251 penalty minutes in 154 career regular season ECHL games and one goal and six penalty minutes in 11 Kelly Cup Playoff games with Roanoke, Pee Dee and Greenville.
