Condors Welcome
Gold Medalist Lezak Saturday

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The Bakersfield Condors announced that 2008 Olympic gold medalist Jason Lezak will drop the ceremonial first puck at Saturday’s Olympic Jersey Off Our Backs game.

The Condors are the ECHL affiliate of the Anaheim Ducks of the National Hockey League and the Iowa Chops of the American Hockey League. Dave Farrish, who coached in the ECHL from 2000-05, and Joe Trotta, who was an assistant coach in the ECHL in 2000-01, are assistant coaches for the Ducks.

The team will present Lezak with a customized jersey and will also auction off a Jason Lezak Olympic Jersey. Lezak will also be at the Condors photograph booth to take pictures with fans and sign autographs.

Proceeds from the jersey auction will benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities, including the Ronald McDonald House Family Room, a designated area at Memorial Hospital in Bakersfield where family members of admitted children can eat, sleep and even shower while their loved ones receive treatment.

Bakersfield jersey auctions have raised more than $559,000 for local charities including more than $100,000 in 2007-08.
