Coyotes Assign Morrison To RoadRunners

PHOENIX – The Phoenix RoadRunners announced that the Phoenix Coyotes of the National Hockey League have assigned goaltender Mike Morrison to the club from the San Antonio Rampage of the American Hockey League.

The RoadRunners are the ECHL affiliate of the Coyotes of the National Hockey League and the Rampage of the American Hockey League.

The 27-year-old was one of five goaltenders to play in both the ECHL and the NHL in 2005-06, playing for both the Edmonton Oilers and the Ottawa Senators in the NHL and with Greenville in the ECHL. He won the NHL Defensive Player of the Week Award on Nov. 28, 2005 making him one of five former ECHL goaltenders to capture the honor last season.

Selected in the seventh round (186th overall) by Edmonton in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft and signed by the Coyotes in July, the 6-foot-3 and 203-pound Morrison is 0-3-0 with a goals-against average of 6.13 and a save percentage of .790 in four games with the Coyotes and 0-1-0 with a goals-against average of 11.01 and a save percentage of .732 in two games with San Antonio.
