INDEPENDENCE, Mo. — The Missouri Mavericks announced that they have signed defensemen Patrick Cullity and Wes Cunningham for the 2015-16 season.
The Mavericks are the ECHL affiliate of the New York Islanders of the National Hockey League and the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the American Hockey League.
Cullity joins the Mavericks after spending the 2014-15 season with the Idaho Steelheads where he recorded 15 points (2g-13a) in 59 games. He also saw action in three games with Springfield of the American Hockey League. Cullity is entering his sixth professional season, having played in 78 games in the American Hockey League and 229 games in the ECHL. The 28-year-old played four seasons at the University of Vermont before beginning his pro career with the South Carolina Stingrays in 2010-11.
Cunningham makes his return to the ECHL this season after spending the 2014-15 season in France with Rouen. The 28-year-old veteran defenseman has played five previous seasons in the ECHL, while also making multiple American Hockey League appearances, including a five-game run with the Sound Tigers in 2011-12.
