FRISCO, Texas – The Dallas Stars of the National Hockey announced that the team has signed a one-year extension to its affiliation agreement with the Idaho Steelheads.
The Steelheads were affiliated with Dallas in 2005-06 and when they won the Kelly Cup in their inaugural season in the ECHL in 2003-04. Idaho was affiliated with Phoenix of the NHL and Utah of the AHL in 2004-05.
The Iowa Stars are the American Hockey League affiliate of the Dallas Stars of the NHL and Idaho Steelheads of the ECHL.
“We are pleased to continue our affiliation with Idaho and we are expecting continued success for the Steelheads,” Dallas Stars General Manager Doug Armstrong said. “Idaho has done an excellent job as a development affiliate for the Dallas Stars, and together with Iowa in the American Hockey league, we should continue to have a solid, coordinated partnership.”
