Dallas Assigns Naurov, Nickerson To Steelheads

BOISE, Idaho – The Idaho Steelheads announced that the Dallas Stars of the National Hockey League have reassigned defenseman Matt Nickerson (pictured) and rookie forward Alexander Naurov to Idaho. The Steelheads also announced that they have released forward Justin Johnson.

Idaho is the ECHL affiliate of Dallas of the NHL and the Iowa Stars of the American Hockey League.

Selected by Dallas in the third round (99th overall) in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft and under NHL contract to the Stars, the 22-year-old Nickerson will play right wing during his stint with the Steelheads. The 6-foot-4 and 238-pound Nickerson has three assists and 97 penalty minutes in 40 games with Iowa and 23 penalty minutes in five games with Idaho.

Selected in the fourth round (134th overall) by Dallas in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft and under NHL contract to the Stars, the 22-year-old Naurov has been playing in Finland where he had two assists and eight penalty minutes in 11 games for Assat.
