Davis Returns To Nailers

WHEELING, W.V. – The Wheeling Nailers announced that they have re-signed Chris Davis for the 2010-11 season.

The Nailers are the ECHL affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins of the National Hockey League and the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the American Hockey League.

Davis played in 50 games last year after being acquired in an early season trade with Stockton. He scored 11 goals and nine assists for 20 points while also accumulating 28 penalty minutes.

Prior to turning pro, Davis competed for four years at UMass-Amherst playing in 139 games from 2005-09. In his senior season he was a runner-up for Player of the Month in the powerful Hockey East Conference. In his freshman year with the Minutemen he was named the team’s Rookie of the Year.
