Delmas named Reebok Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week


PRINCETON, N.J. – Peter Delmas of the Wheeling Nailers is the Reebok Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week for Dec. 17-23. It is the third time in his career that Delmas has won the weekly honor.

 

The 22-year-old went 3-0-0 with a 1.00 goals-against average and a .949 save percentage in three appearances last week, helping the Nailers extend their winning streak to six games.

 

Delmas made 20 saves in a 3-1 win against Greenville on Tuesday and followed that up with 21 saves in a 4-1 victory over the Road Warriors on Wednesday. He ended the week with 15 saves in a 5-1 win against Elmira on Friday.

 

A native of Bedford, Nova Scotia, Delmas is 4-0-0 with Wheeling this season, posting a 2.00 goals-against average and a save percentage of .907.

 

Under contract to the Montreal Canadiens of the National Hockey League, Delmas has appeared in 65 career games with the Nailers, posting an overall record of 37-20-5 with six shutouts, a 2.29 goals-against average and a save percentage of .917. He also has seen action in nine career American Hockey League games with Hamilton.

 

Runners Up: Gerald Coleman, Alaska (3-0-0, 1.62 GAA, .932 save pct.) and Adam Brown, Colorado (3-0-0, 1.67 GAA, .923 save pct.).
