Donati Brings Jackals Scoring Punch

ELMIRA, N.Y. – Two rookies led the Jackals in scoring a year ago, and another young player sits atop Elmira’s points list in this early part of the season.

Tyler Donati leads not only the Jackals but the entire ECHL in scoring with seven points in three games: three goals and four assists. Kimbi Daniels of the Phoenix Roadrunners is second with six points, but he’s played in four games.

Having turned 22 last week, Donati is younger than Elmira’s top two scorers from 2007-08, Benoit Doucet and Pierre-Luc Faubert.

“Tyler is at the top of the list in the ECHL as far as offensive talent,” Jackals coach Steve Martinson said. “Tyler wants to make a lot of offensive plays. He has a lot of ability.”
