Duo Returns To Nailers

WHEELING, W.Va. – The Wheeling Nailers announced that center Brendon Hodge and defenseman James Laux have signed their qualifying offers.

The Nailers are the ECHL affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins of the National Hockey League and the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the American Hockey League.

The 27-year-old Hodge has played each of his first two professional seasons with the Nailers scoring 42 points (14g-28a) in 66 games in 2004-05 and 48 points (23g-25a) in 71 games as a rookie in 2003-04.

The 25-year-old Laux had 22 points (10g-12a) in 56 games with Wheeling in 2004-05 after scoring seven points (4g-3a) in 23 games with Philadelphia of the AHL and one assist in seven games with Trenton as a rookie in 2003-04.
