Eagles add experience in goal with Cheverie


WINDSOR, Colo. – The
Colorado Eagles announced Tuesday that they have signed Marc Cheverie for the 2013-14 season.

The Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia native has spent parts of three seasons in the AHL with Rochester, Portland and Binghamton. Last season, he appeared in 13 games with the Senators where he was 6-6-1 with a 2.80 goals-against average and a .907 save percentage. In addition to his 37 career games in the AHL, Cheverie has played in 74 ECHL contests, including 22 games last season with the Elmira Jackals, where he sported an 11-9-1 record with three shutouts, a 2.60 goals-against average and a .917 save percentage.

Selected in the seventh round (193rd overall) by the Florida Panthers in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft, Cheverie spent three seasons at the University of Denver. In 80 career games with the Pioneers, he posted an overall record of 48-18-8 with 10 shutouts, a 2.20 goals-against average and a .926 save percentage.
