Eagles bring back Beatty and Jones

LOVELAND, Colo. – The Colorado Eagles, ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Winnipeg Jets and the AHL’s St. John’s IceCaps, announced today the re-signing of two defensive stalwarts, veteran defenseman Jason Beatty and goaltender Kyle Jones

Beatty returns for his sixth year with the Eagles, and is coming off a season that saw him record a career-high in goals (5) despite playing in just 41 games. In 266 games with Colorado, the 6-foot-1-inch, 225-pound defenseman has recorded 53 points and 461 penalty minutes.

Jones led the ECHL in wins last season (31), ranked secnd in saves (1,373) and third in minutes (2,951). The netminder ranks secnd on the Eagles’ all-time wins list, accumulating a record of 60-25-7 over the past two seasons. A former collegiate standout at St. Norbert College, Jones was also the starting goalie for the All-Star team in the 2011 Central Hockey League All-Star game.
