WINDSOR, Colo. – The Colorado Eagles announced that they have signed goaltender Dustin Butler for the 2013-14 season.
Butler spent the previous five seasons at the University of Calgary, where he was named to both the All-Canadian first team and the All-CIS West first team in 2011, while also being voted the CIS goaltender of the year during that same season. In 99 games with the Dinos, Butler posted a cumulative 2.44 goals-against average and .908 save percentage, while also registering six shutouts.
Prior to arriving at the University of Calgary, the High River, Alberta native spent five seasons in the WHL, most recently with the Prince Albert Raiders in the 2007-08 season. Butler also dressed as the back-up to Roberto Luongo while serving as an emergency goaltender for the Vancouver Canucks on April 10, 2013 .
