Eastern Conference champion to be decided in Game 7 on Wednesday

The Eastern Conference representative in the 2017 Kelly Cup Finals will be decided on Wednesday at the SNHU Arena in Manchester, N.H. when the Manchester Monarchs host the South Carolina Stingrays in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals. The 41st Game 7 in ECHL postseason history, and the 17th over the last three playoff seasons, faces off at 7 p.m. ET and you can catch all of the action LIVE on ECHL.TV.

Manchester forced the decisive game with a 5-1 win on Monday. The Stingrays had won three straight games in the series before the Monarchs’ victory last night. The winner of Wednesday’s game advances to meet Colorado in the 2017 Kelly Cup Finals, which will start on Friday at 7:05 p.m. MT at the Budweiser Events Center in Loveland, Colo.

Manchester is playing in a Game 7 for the first time in its two ECHL seasons while South Carolina is appearing in a Game 7 for the seventh time, including the third straight year in the Eastern Conference Finals. The Stingrays defeated Toledo 1-0 in triple overtime in 2015 before falling to Wheeling 5-2 last season. South Carolina is 4-2 all-time in Game 7s, picking up wins over Adirondack in the 2016 Eastern Conference Semifinals, Reading in the 2015 East Division Semifinals and Alaska in the 2009 Kelly Cup Finals while falling to Allen in the 2015 Kelly Cup Finals.

Wednesday’s game is the 41st Game 7 all-time in ECHL postseason history. The home team is 29-11 all-time in ECHL Game 7s  and has won 16 of the last 20 Game 7s.
