Former ECHL players Jerry Kuhn, Nielsson Arcibal and Jami Yoder were part of the U.S. National Inline team that captured the golde medal at the 2013 International Ice Hockey Federation InLine World Championship. The United States defeated Sweden 6-3 in the gold medal game on Sunday in Dresden, Germany.
Arcibal, who played with South Carolina in 2011-12, scored the first goal of the game for the U.S. while Kuhn, who has ECHL experience with Idaho and Greenville, made 28 saves in the gold-medal win. With the win, the United States became the first country to win the tournament six times.
The head coach of the U.S. team for the tournament was Joe Cook, who played in the ECHL with the Columbus Chill and Toledo Storm in 1993-94.
