ECHL announces fine, suspensions

PRINCETON, N.J. – The ECHL on Monday announced the following fine and suspensions resulting from ECHL Game #414, Ontario at Bakersfield, on Jan. 28.

Ontario’s Kevin Estrada has been suspended for one game under Rule #46.21 which states that any player deemed to be the instigator or aggressor of an altercation in the final five (5) minutes of regulation, or at anytime in overtime, shall be automatically suspended from his team’s next game. Estrada was assessed a game misconduct for aggressor with 1:18 remaining in the third period. He will miss Ontario’s game against Alaska on Jan. 31.

Bakersfield’s Tyson Gimblett has been suspended for one game under Rule #46.21 which states that any player deemed to be the instigator or aggressor of an altercation in the final five (5) minutes of regulation, or at anytime in overtime, shall be automatically suspended from his team’s next game. Gimblett was assessed an instigating minor with five seconds remaining in the third period. He will miss Bakersfield’s game against Stockton on Feb. 1.

Bakersfield head coach Matt O’Dette has been fined an undisclosed amount under Rule #28 – Supplementary Discipline. O’Dette was assessed a game misconduct for unsportsmanlike conduct at 19:55 of the third period.
