ECHL announces fine, suspensions


PRINCETON, N.J. – The ECHL on Tuesday announced the following fine and suspensions.

San Francisco’s Grant fined, suspended

San Francisco’s Tommy Grant has been suspended for two games and fined an undisclosed amount as a result of his actions in ECHL Game #762, Utah at San Francisco, on March 17.

Grant was assessed a major penalty and game misconduct for elbowing under Rule #45.5 at 0:44 of the third period. He is fined and suspended under Rule #28 – Supplementary Discipline.

Grant will miss San Francisco’s games vs. Stockton on March 22 and March 23.

Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the ECHL and the Professional Hockey Players’ Association, player fines collected by the ECHL are given to the PHPA for its ECHL Player’s Hardship Fund.

Fort Wayne’s Kishel suspended

Fort Wayne’s Scott Kishel has been suspended one additional game as a result of his actions in ECHL Game #740, Fort Wayne at Kalamazoo, on March 15.

Kishel was assessed a major penalty and game misconduct for boarding under Rule #41.5 at 2:34 of the third period.

Kishel missed Fort Wayne’s games vs. Greenville on March 16 and vs. Evansville on March 17 and will miss Fort Wayne’s game vs. Reading on March 20.

South Carolina’s Cherniwchan suspended

South Carolina’s Andrew Cherniwchan has been suspended one additional game as a result of his actions in ECHL Game #752, South Carolina at Florida, on March 16.

Cherniwchan was assessed a major penalty and game misconduct for kneeing under Rule #50.5 at 19:00 of the first period.

Cherniwchan missed South Carolina’s game at Florida on March 17 and will miss South Carolina’s game vs. Gwinnett on March 22.
