ECHL announces fines, suspensions

PRINCETON, N.J. – The ECHL on Tuesday announced the following fines and suspensions.

Greenville’s Klassen fined, suspended

Greenville’s Sam Klassen has been suspended for one game and fined an undisclosed amount as a result of his actions in ECHL Game #193, Greenville at Cincinnati, on Dec. 3.

He is fined and suspended under Rule #28 – Supplementary Discipline.

Klassen will miss Greenville’s game against Gwinnett on Dec. 8.

Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the ECHL and the Professional Hockey Players’ Association, player fines collected by the ECHL are given to the PHPA for its ECHL Player’s Hardship Fund.

Reading’s Degon fined, suspended

Reading’s Marvin Degon has been suspended for one game and fined an undisclosed amount as a result of his actions in ECHL Game #195, Reading at Elmira, on Dec. 3

Degon was assessed a match penalty for illegal check to the head at 15:41 of the second period.

Degon has been placed on team suspension by Reading, and will serve his suspension upon return to the ECHL.

Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the ECHL and the Professional Hockey Players’ Association, player fines collected by the ECHL are given to the PHPA for its ECHL Player’s Hardship Fund.

Ontario’s Christie fined, suspended

Ontario head coach Jason Christie has been suspended for one game and fined an undisclosed amount as a result of his actions in ECHL Game #202, Stockton at Ontario, on Dec. 4.

Christie was assessed a game misconduct under Rule #40.7 at 19:41 of the third period. He is fined and suspended under Rule #28 – Supplementary Discipline.

Christie will miss Ontario’s game at Las Vegas on Dec. 8.
