ECHL Announces Fines, Suspensions

PRINCETON, N.J. – The ECHL on Saturday announced the following fines and suspensions.

 
Kalamazoo’s Ftorek Suspended
 
 
 
Kalamazoo’s Sam Ftorek has been suspended one game for his actions in ECHL Game #157, Greenville at Kalamazoo, on Nov. 26.
 
Ftorek received an instigating penalty with 2:28 remaining in the third period of the game. He is suspended under Rule #46.21 which states any player deemed to be the instigator or aggressor of an altercation in the final five (5) minutes of regulation or at anytime in overtime, shall be automatically suspended from his team’s next game.
 
Ftorek will miss Kalamazoo’s game at Wheeling on Nov. 27.
 
Victoria’s Stefanishion Fined, Suspended
 
Victoria’s Matt Stefanishion has been suspended two games and fined an undisclosed amount for his actions in ECHL Game #162, Idaho at Victoria, on Nov. 26. 
 
Stefanishion was assessed a minor penalty for elbowing at 5:44 of the third period.
 
Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the ECHL and the Professional Hockey Players’ Association, player fines collected by the ECHL are given to the PHPA for its ECHL Player’s Hardship Fund.
 
Stefanishion will miss Victoria’s game against Idaho on Nov. 27 and against Stockton on Dec. 1.
