Dave Farrish is in his fourth season as Head Coach and Vice President of Hockey Operations for Louisiana. Farrish is 138-56-22 in three seasons behind the IceGators bench and has more wins than any other ECHL coach during that time. He begins the 2002-03 season needing 33 wins to surpass the team record for most wins as a coach, set by Doug Shedden, who was 170-84-20 in four seasons with Louisiana from 1995-99. Farrish is 423-366-87-9 in 12 seasons as a professional coach, including three seasons with Springfield of the American Hockey League from 1997-2000, compiling a 115-98-25 record. He began his coaching career in the AHL with Moncton in 1989-90 and has also coached in the International Hockey League with Salt Lake and Fort Wayne. Farrish, whose teams have qualified for the postseason in nine of his 12 seasons, also served as an assistant coach with New Jersey of the National Hockey League in 1992-93. Selected by the New York Rangers in the second round (24th overall) in the 1976 NHL Amateur Draft and in the first round (fifth overall) by the San Diego Mariners in the 1976 World Hockey Association Draft, Farrish played 14 professional seasons from 1976-89. A defenseman, he played 430 games in the NHL over seven seasons, and he was a member of the Rangers team that advanced to the 1979 Stanley Cup Finals. A native of Wingham, Ontario, Farrish and his wife, Roxanne, live in Lafayette, Louisiana.
