Steve Martinson is in his ninth season as General Manager and Head Coach of San Diego. Martinson led the Gulls to five postseason and four regular season championships in eight seasons in the West Coast Hockey League, and he was twice named WCHL Coach of the Year (1995-96 and 1997-98). Martinson played 12 professional seasons, including stints in the National Hockey League with the Detroit Red Wings, the Montreal Canadiens and the Minnesota North Stars as well as two seasons with the International Hockey League’s San Diego Gulls. A native of Minnetonka, Minnesota, Martinson was a two-time NCAA All-Star selection at St. Cloud University. He and his wife, Michelle, reside in the Mt. Helix, California area with their son, Logan, and daughter Lily.
