PRINCETON, N.J. – The race for the Kelly Cup Playoffs and the subsequent opening rounds combined with the announcement of the expansion Elmira Jackals helped ECHL.com reach an all-time high with over 5 million page impressions in April while also setting records with 195,306 unique visitors and 583,024 user sessions.
The web site of the Premier ‘AA’ Hockey League had a 307 percent increase in page impressions from 2003 while user sessions and unique visitors are up by 207 percent and 160 percent, respectively, during the same period. In the first four months of 2007, ECHL.com has 18.2 million page impressions, surpassing the totals for the entire year in 2003 and 2004.
Traffic doubled each month from the previous year with more than 30.8 million page impressions, 1.2 million unique visitors and over 3.5 million user sessions from October to April. There have been over 1,600 stories posted to ECHL.com in the first four months of the year after more than 3,000 stories were posted in 2006.
In its fourth season, the ECHL.com Network provides access to information for fans with links to every ECHL teams as well as ECHL partners.
For the past six years, ECHL.com has been a member of the NHL.com Network, which includes all NHL teams and league partners, including the top two professional developmental leagues with the ECHL and the American Hockey League. The ECHL web site is hosted by GKG Sports Network in Bryan, Texas.
The ECHL will play its 20th Anniversary season in 2007-08 with 25 teams in 17 states and one Canadian province, including the expansion Elmira (N.Y.) Jackals and the Mississippi Sea Wolves, who return to the ice after missing the last two seasons because of Hurricane Katrina.
