ECHL Defenseman Of The Year DiLauro
Assigned From Cleveland To Falcons

FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno Falcons announced that 2005 ECHL Defensemen of the Year Ray DiLauro has been assigned from the Cleveland Barons of the American Hockey League.

Fresno acquired the rights to DiLauro, who is scheduled to play his first game for the Falcons at Idaho on Wednesday, from the Wheeling Nailers on Oct. 17, in exchange for financial considerations.

The Falcons are the ECHL affiliate of the Barons of the AHL and the San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League.

DiLauro is under contract to Cleveland and has 24 points (5g-19a) and 33 penalty minutes in 47 games with the Barons.

In 2004-05, DiLauro was named ECHL Defenseman of the Year and First Team All-ECHL after leading league defensemen with 24 power-play assists and four shorthand assists and tying for the lead with 33 power-play points while ranking second among defensemen with 40 assists and 52 points in 72 games.
