ECHL Rosters Have Players From 21 Countries

Of the 559 players on ECHL active rosters as of October 27, almost 94 percent were born in North America with 370 players born in Canada (66 percent) and 155 born in the United States (just under 28 percent).

The breakdown of ECHL players from Canada by province is: Ontario (162), Alberta (51), British Columbia (45), Saskatchewan (42), Quebec (41), Manitoba (18), Nova Scotia (6), New Brunswick (3), Newfoundland (1) and Prince Edward Island (1).

The breakdown of ECHL players from the United States by state is: Massachusetts (26), Minnesota (26), Michigan (21), New York (17), Pennsylvania (8), California (7), Illinois (7), Wisconsin (7), Alaska (6), New Jersey (5), New Hampshire (4), Ohio (4), Connecticut (3), Colorado (2), North Dakota (2), Oregon (2), Washington (2), Maryland (1), Missouri (1), Nebraska (1), Rhode Island (1), South Dakota (1) and Texas (1).

The remaining 34 players come from 19 different countries led by the Czech Republic with six players. Finland has five players and the Ukraine has four players while Latvia, Russia, and Slovakia each have three players. Sweden has two players while Denmark, England, Hungary, Japan, Korea, Nigeria, Norway, Romania, Serbia and Slovenia each have one player.
