ECHL’s Kelly Co-Authors “Hockey In Charlotte”

The history of professional hockey in Charlotte, including the Checkers of the ECHL, has been chronicled by Jim Mancuso with assistance from ECHL Commissioner Emeritus Patrick Kelly in the newly-released “Hockey in Charlotte”.

Considered by many to be the birthplace of professional hockey in the South, Charlotte is also one of the most successful hockey towns in the South with six playoff championships, including 1996 when the Checkers won the ECHL title.

Featuring more than 200 rare photographs from Kelly’s personal collection and the Hockey Hall of Fame, “Hockey in Charlotte” is available online at Arcadia Publishing..
