Edmonton Assigns Deslauriers To Grrrowl

GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Greenville Grrrowl announced that rookie goaltender Jeff Deslauriers has been assigned to the team by Edmonton. Greenville is the ECHL affiliate of Edmonton of the National Hockey League and Edmonton of the American Hockey League.

Selected in the second round (31st overall) by Edmonton in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft, the 20-year-old Deslauriers is expected to be in uniform for Greenville when it plays at Pee Dee on Friday.

In his first professional season and under contract to Edmonton of the NHL, the 6-4 and 195-pound Deslauriers is 4-7-1 with a goals-against average of 2.86 and a save percentage of .889 in 12 games with Edmonton of the AHL.
