Elmira Signs Doucet, Faubert, Roach

ELMIRA, N.Y. – The Elmira Jackals announced that they have signed center Benoit Doucet, right wing Pierre-Luc Faubert and defenseman Brandon Roach.

The Jackals are the ECHL affiliate of the Ottawa Senators of the National Hockey League and the Binghamton Senators of the American Hockey League.

The 22-year-old Doucet led Elmira as a rookie in 2007-08 with 52 assists, 83 points and 11 power-play goals and tied for the team lead with 31 goals in 71 games. He ranked second among ECHL rookies and tied for third overall in assists and was third among first-year players and fourth overall in points.

The 22-year-old Faubert was the only Jackals player to appear in all 72 games as a rookie in 2007-08 tying for the team lead with 31 goals and finishing second with 45 assists and 76 points as a rookie. He ranked fourth among league rookies in assists and points.

The 23-year-old Roach had 34 points (12g-22a) and 19 penalty minutes in 71 regular season games and one goal in three Kelly Cup Playoff games as a rookie with the Florida Everblades in 2007-08.
