Elmira Team Bus Involved In Accident

PRINCETON, N.J. – The ECHL announced that a bus carrying the Elmira Jackals hockey club back from its game at Cincinnati on Wednesday was involved in an accident on Interstate 90 in Pennsylvania early Thursday morning.

There were not any life-threatening injuries suffered by players or staff members.

The driver, Kenneth Nance, was taken to Hamot Medical Center in Erie, Pa. where he was treated for lower-body injuries and, according to a report by The Associated Press, was in serious condition in intensive care.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of Kenneth Nance,” said ECHL Commissioner Brian McKenna. “We feel very fortunate that the players and staff escaped with what appear to be mostly minor injuries.”

The Jackals are not scheduled to play again until Dec. 5 when they will host the Trenton Devils at First Arena.
