Estrada Assigned to Everblades,
Saviano Called Up To Lowell

ESTERO, Fla. – The Florida Everblades announced that forward Steve Saviano has been called up to the Lowell Lock Monsters of the American Hockey League and that rookie left wing Kevin Estrada (pictured) has been assigned to Florida by Lowell.

The Everblades are the ECHL affiliate of the Lock Monsters of the AHL and the Carolina Hurricanes and the Florida Panthers of the National Hockey League.

Selected in the third round (91st overall) by the Hurricanes in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, the 23-year-old Estrada has six penalty minutes in eight games with Lowell. The 5-foot-11 and 185-pound Estrada played four seasons at Michigan State University where he had 42 points (20g-22a) and 99 penalty minutes in 135 games.

The 24-year-old Saviano has 14 points (5g-9a) in nine games with Florida and leads the league in shorthand goals with three, including two against Charlotte on November 18.
