Everblades Acquire Ronan,
Taticek Called Up To Houston

ESTERO, Fla. – The Florida Everblades announced that they have acquired forward John Ronan from the Alaska Aces in exchange for future considerations and that rookie center Petr Taticek has been called up to the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League.

The Everblades are the ECHL affiliate of the Carolina Hurricanes and the Florida Panthers of the National Hockey League and the Lowell Lock Monsters of the American Hockey League.

Signed by Alaska after completing his season at the University of Maine, the 25-year-old Ronan played in two regular season games and three Kelly Cup Playoff games for the Aces. The 5-10 and 200-pound Ronan had career bests as a senior in 2004-05 with 11 goals, nine assists and 20 points in 37 games while helping the Black Bears advance to the NCAA Tournament.

Selected in the first round (9th overall) by the Panthers in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft, the 22-year-old Taticek was assigned to the Everblades by the Panthers and had an assist in a preseason game against Toledo. In his first professional season in 2004-05, he had 22 points (7g-15a) in 67 games with San Antonio of the AHL in 2004-05 and seven points (2g-5a) in four games with Laredo in the Central Hockey League.
