Everblades Activate Rookie Defenseman Nasby

ESTERO, Fla. – The Florida Everblades announced that rookie defenseman Bret Nasby has been activated from injured reserve and that he is expected to make his professional debut on Friday at Charlotte.

The Everblades are the ECHL affiliate of the Florida Panthers and the Stanley Cup champion Carolina Hurricanes of the National Hockey League and the Albany River Rats of the American Hockey League.

Selected in the fifth round (152nd overall) by the Panthers in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft, the 20-year-old played the last three years in the Ontario Hockey League where he had 55 points (13g-42a) and 184 penalty minutes in 174 regular season games and three assists and six penalty minutes in seven playoff games for Oshawa and Erie.
