ESTERO, Fla. – Florida Everblades President and General Manager Craig Brush along with Head Coach Brad Ralph announced that the team has agreed to terms with forward Stephen MacAulay for the 2016-17 season (above photo courtesy of SMU Huskies).
The Everblades are the ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes and the American Hockey League’s Charlotte Checkers.
MacAulay joins the Everblades after recording 34 points (13g-21a) with St. Mary’s University last season. The 24-year-old center totaled 70 points (24g-46a) during his three collegiate seasons with the Huskies from 2013-16.
During the 2013-14 season, MacAulay logged two assists in 12 games with the Wheeling Nailers, while registering two points (1g-1a) in eight appearances with the AHL’s Hamilton Bulldogs.
The Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia native played five productive seasons in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League amassing 155 points split between the Saint John Sea Dogs and the Halifax Mooseheads from 2008-13. MacAulay won Memorial Cup championships with Saint John in 2011 and with Halifax in 2013.
MacAulay was selected by the St. Louis Blues in the sixth round of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.
