Everblades bring back Florentino


ESTERO, Fla. – Florida Everblades President & General Manager Craig Brush along with Head Coach Greg Poss announced today that the team has agreed to terms with defenseman Rob Florentino for the 2015-16 season.

The Everblades are the ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes and the American Hockey League’s Charlotte Checkers.

Florentino, 26, returns to Florida after recording eight points (4g-4a) with the Everblades last season. In addition, the 6-1,190-pound blueliner scored two goals in 18 contests with the Elmira Jackals prior to being acquired by the Everblades in January.

The West Roxbury, Mass. native registered 15 points (5g-10a) in 15 games played with the Huntsville Havoc (SPHL) during the 2013-14 season. Florentino has also made appearances with the Reading Royals (2013-14) and Las Vegas Wranglers (2012-13).

Florentino totaled 64 points (21g-43a) in three seasons at the University of Massachusetts-Boston (ECAC) from 2010-13.
