Everblades Re-Sign Carlson

ESTERO, FL – Florida Everblades President and General Manager Craig Brush along with Head Coach Greg Poss announced today that forward Ross Carlson has signed a contract for the 2010-11 season.

The Everblades are the ECHL affiliate of the Carolina Hurricanes and Tampa Bay Lightning of the National Hockey League and the Charlotte Checkers and Norfolk Admirals of the American Hockey League.

Carlson returns for his third season with the Everblades and is entering his fifth season professionally. In 2009-10 the 28-year-old tallied 53 points (28g, 25a) and 28 penalty minutes in 62 regular season games with the Everblades and chipped in seven points (2g, 5a) in six Kelly Cup Playoff games.

In his first season with the Everblades in 2008-09, the Duluth, Minnesota native posted 36 points in 52 regular season games and notched nine points in 11 Kelly Cup Playoff games. Carlson also saw action that year in six combined games in the American Hockey League with the Peoria Rivermen and Rochester Americans.

In his first full professional season in 2007-08 Carlson skated in 49 games with the Texas Wildcatters of the ECHL recording 38 points and played in a total of 19 games at the AHL level with the Rockford Ice Hogs and Houston Aeros, tallying a total of five points.
