ESTERO, Fla. – The Florida Everblades announced that they have been assigned defensemen Martin Lojek and Martin Tuma and goaltender Phil Osaer by the Florida Panthers of the National Hockey League.
The Everblades are the ECHL affiliate of the Panthers as well as the Carolina Hurricanes of the NHL and the Lowell Lock Monsters of the American Hockey League.
Selected in the fourth round (105th overall) by the Panthers in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft, the 20-year-old Lojek has played each of the past three seasons in the Ontario Hockey League with Brampton where he had 47 points (5g-42a) and 144 penalty minutes in 191 regular season games and five assists and 14 penalty minutes in 29 playoff games.
Selected in the fifth round (162nd overall) by the Panthers in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft, the 20-year-old Tuma had one assist in five games with San Antonio of the AHL in 2004-05 after having 23 points (10g-13a) and 107 penalty minutes in 61 regular season games and three assists in seven playoff games with Sault Ste Marie in the OHL.
Selected in the seventh round (203rd overall) by St. Louis, the 25-year-old Osaer had a goals-against average of 3.10 and a save percentage of .917 in 42 games with the Texas Wildcatters in 2004-05 and also played three games in the American Hockey League with San Antonio.
