Everblades Sign Hendrikx

ESTERO, FL – Florida Everblades President and General Manager Craig Brush along with Head Coach Greg Poss announced today that defenseman Trevor Hendrikx has signed a contract for the 2010-11 season, making him the seventh player signed by the Everblades for the upcoming season.

The Everblades are the ECHL affiliate of the Carolina Hurricanes and Tampa Bay Lightning of the National Hockey League and the Charlotte Checkers and Norfolk Admirals of the American Hockey League.

Hendrikx joins the Everblades after splitting the 2009-10 season in the ECHL between the Johnstown Chiefs and Charlotte Checkers. The 25-year-old began the season with Johnstown where he posted 25 points (6g-19a) and 164 penalty minutes in 43 games before being traded to Charlotte on March 12. Hendrikx finished off the regular season netting four points (2g-2a) and 36 PIM in 12 games with the Checkers then chipped in six points (2g-4a) in 11 Kelly Cup Playoff games.
