Falcons Beat Bakersfield 2-1

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – Rookie goaltender Jamie Holden made 39 saves and Shawn Mather scored the game winning goal with less than four minutes remaining to give the Fresno Falcons a 2-1 win over the Bakersfield Condors in a preseason game at Rabobank Arena on Saturday.

Fraser Clair gave the Falcons a 1-0 lead with a power-play goal at 15:37 of the second period, assisted by Mather.

Bakersfield tied the game at 13:45 of the third period when Justin Quenneville scored a power-play goal.

Less than three minutes later, Mather scored the game winner, assisted by Alex Motley.

Fresno will close out its preseason schedule on Sunday at 5 p.m. against the Stockton Thunder at Gateway Ice Center while Bakersfield travels to the San Diego Ice Arena to face the San Diego Gulls at 3:30 p.m.
