Falcons Sign Rookies Bria, Pence, Tejchma

FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno Falcons announced that they have signed three rookies from the University of Massachusetts Lowell. Defensemen J.R. Bria and Jake Pence and center Jason Tejchma are all scheduled to make their professional debut on Thursday at Idaho.

The Falcons are the ECHL affiliate of the San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League and the Worcester Sharks of the American Hockey League.

The 24-year-old Bria played his last two seasons at UMass Lowell and led all defensemen in 2005-06 with 13 points (5g-8a) in 33 games while the 23-year-old Pence played four seasons and had nine assists and 62 penalty minutes in 95 games.

The 23-year-old Tejchma led the team with 21 points and tied for the team lead with 10 goals while serving as captain this season.
