Fallon named Reebok Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week
PRINCETON, N.J. - Joe Fallon of the Las Vegas Wranglers is the Reebok Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week for Feb. 4-10. It is the third time in Fallon’s career that he was won the weekly honor.
Along with Andrew Sarauer, who earlier today was named ECHL Player of the Week, this marks the first time since the week ending March 14, 2010 that the same team has had the Player and Goaltender of the Week for the same week.
The 28-year-old went 3-0-0 with a 1.95 goals-against average and a .938 save percentage in three appearances last week.
Fallon matched his season-high, making 40 saves in a 4-2 win against Colorado on Monday and followed that up with 31 saves in a 4-1 win at Bakersfield on Friday and ended the week with 19 saves in a 4-3 overtime win at Ontario on Saturday.
A native of Bemidji, Minnesota, Fallon is second in the ECHL with 2,130 minutes played, third with 925 saves and 18 wins and is tied for seventh with a 2.42 goals-against average.
Selected by the Chicago Blackhawks in the sixth round (167th overall) in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, Fallon has appeared in 145 career ECHL games with Fresno, Gwinnett and Las Vegas posting an overall record of 84-44-12 with eight shutouts, a 2.55 goals-against average and a save percentage of .912. He also has appeared in 64 career games in the American Hockey League with Rockford, Peoria, San Antonio, Bridgeport and Houston where he is 27-25-1.
