Fiddler Scores First NHL Goal

Vern Fiddler scored his first National Hockey League goal in Nashville’s 4-2 loss at Chicago on Sunday. With the Predators trailing 2-0, Fiddler batted in the rebound on a shot by Clark Wilm.

Fiddler, who made his NHL debut on November 2 at Los Angeles, has two points (1g-1a) and two PIMs in five games with the Predators. He was reassigned to Milwaukee of the American Hockey League on Monday.

Selected to the 2002 ECHL All-Star Game and named to the 2002 ECHL All-Rookie Team, Fiddler scored 55 points (27g-28a) in 44 games with Roanoke in 2001-02 before being called up to Norfolk of the American Hockey League where he scored 13 points (8g-5a) in 38 games. He began his ECHL career in 2000-01 with Arkansas recording an assist in three regular season games and scoring three goals in five games in the Kelly Cup Playoffs.
