Florida's Galiardi named Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week
PRINCETON, N.J. – Rylan Galiardi of the Florida Everblades is the Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week for Feb. 27-March 4.
The 25-year-old forward scored four goals, added four assists and was +4 as the Everblades went 2-0-1 in a three-game series against Kalamazoo.
Galiardi opened the week with two points (1g-1a) in a 5-4 shootout loss on Wednesday and then set a season-high with four points (3g-1a) in a 9-3 on Friday. He closed the week with two assists in a 5-4 win on Saturday.
A native of Calgary, Alberta, Galiardi has 42 points (16g-26a) in 53 games with the Everblades this season. He was loaned to Providence of the American Hockey League on Sunday, and was held scoreless in the Bruins game against Bridgeport.
Prior to turning pro, Galiardi tallied 81 points (29g-52a) in 140 career games at the University of Minnesota-Mankato. He made his pro debut at the end of last season, notching two assists in 10 games with the AHL’s San Antonio Rampage.
On behalf of Rylan Galiardi, a case of pucks will be donated to a Florida youth hockey organization by Sher-Wood Hockey, the exclusive puck supplier of the ECHL. Since beginning its sponsorship of the award in 2000-01, Sher-Wood Hockey has donated more than 25,000 pucks to youth hockey organizations in ECHL cities.
