Florida Trades Abbott To Idaho

ESTERO, Fla. – The Florida Everblades announced that they have traded forward Jim Abbott to the Idaho Steelheads in exchange for future considerations.

Selected in the seventh round (216th overall) by Pittsburgh in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft, the 24-year-old Abbott has five points (1g-4a) and 12 penalty minutes in 17 games with Florida.

In his first professional season in 2003-04, the 6-1 and 185-pound Abbott played in the ECHL with Toledo, scoring 24 points (7g-17a) in 35 games, and Pensacola, scoring 32 points (19g-13a) in 34 games.
