Former ECHL Coach Kleinendorst
Named Head Coach Of
AHL’s Binghamton Senators

The Ottawa Senators of the National Hockey League announced today that they have hired former ECHL coach Kurt Kleinendorst as head coach of their American Hockey League affiliate, the Binghamton Senators.

The Elmira Jackals are the ECHL affiliate for Ottawa and Binghamton.

Kleinendorst began his coaching career in the ECHL with the Raleigh IceCaps in 1991-92. In five years with Raleigh, Kleinendorst went 156-142-38, leading the team to the playoffs in four seasons, including a berth in the Riley Cup Finals in 1994.

During the 2001-02 season, Kleinendorst served as an assistant coach with the New Jersey Devils and from 2006-09 he was head coach of New Jersey’s AHL affiliate in Lowell, Mass.
